CUBS hosted the annual Postgraduate Research Symposium

After the Fourth Masterclass in Health Economics organized by Cork University Business School – CUBS last March 2024, Cork University Business School continues its enriching events proposals with the aim to highlight the importance of the research carried out by the PhD students and give them voice on the stage.
On the 24th of April 2024 CUBS organized the annual Postgraduate Research Symposium where Claire also took part.

Claire presents during the Postgraduate Research Symposium

Claire, our DC7 supported by her PI Prof. Aileen Murphy presented her research entitled “The Economic Impact of Inherited Retinal Diseases: A Systematic Literature Review” in the first session “Health & Wellbeing” in front of Dr Jane Bourke, Director of PGR, other speakers invited and students.
It was an important event for students, at different stages of their studies, to present their research and enter into debates with other fellows.

Post doctoral career paths

Students could also reflect on their post-doctoral career paths together with  Dr. Lorenzo Cini, Dr. James Duggan, Dr. Mara van Twuijver, Dr. Julia le Maitre and Dr. Jun Gaowho provided students important insights on how to prepare for early career positions. It might seem soon for Claire to think about this aspect but it it extremly important to consider this aspect from the very beginning of the PhD experience.
More information on the event, speakers and agenda foreseen for that day can be find here.
