AboutZohreh Hosseinzadeh:

PD Dr. Zohreh Hosseinzadeh has joined Radboudumc in January 2024 as Associated Professor in Tenure Track. Until december 2023 she covered the role of Head of Ophthalmic research Department at University of Leipzig. Her remarkable research is dedicated to unraveling the intricacies of retinal physiology and pathophysiology with the ultimate goal of discovering innovative therapies. Under her guidance, the research group focuses on developing functional retinal organoids as a powerful platform to uncover disease mechanisms and pioneer novel treatment approaches.

PD Dr. Zohreh Hosseinzadeh has been honored with the prestigious ERC Starting Award, DFG Individual Grant, Tübitak Award, Excellent Women Academics distinction, DAAD German-Australia Cooperation Fund support, Cambridge Bursary from Eye Trust, Pro-Retina Grant in collaboration with the University of Harvard, Maria Reiche Award, Team UNIBUND Postdoc Award, Artificial Vision Award, and Excellent PhD Student Award.

Moreover, she actively engages with patient communities and fosters collaborations with industrial partners to translate research findings into meaningful impact.

With a prolific academic career, she has published 67 peer-reviewed publications that have significantly contributed to the field.
