AboutSandro Banfi:

Dr. Banfi is a full Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” and Principal Investigator at FTELE.IGM. He has supervised 10 PhD and 8 Master theses to successful completion. He is lecturing courses on Functional Genomics in PhD programs and on Medical Genetics in the Medical School.

Prof. Banfi is well known for being the first in sequencing the content of miRNAs in the retina of mice and humans. He has a long experience in the field of genomics. His research group has been studying how these noncoding RNAs change in inherited retinal disorders, such as RP.
